Historic Downtown Tour


This approximately 2 hour small group walk provides an overview of Charleston’s Historic Downtown, focusing on the French Quarter and the area south of Broad Street.


Get to know the historic churches, horticulture, unique architecture and story of our beautiful city from its beginning settlers to the friendly residents of today.  The Historic Downtown Tour is a wonderful introduction to the Historic District that begins from the Four Corners of Law winding through the French Quarter and finishes in the area “South of Broad”.  Please note that stops along the tour will vary depending on the tour guide, but generally you can expect to see some of the following points of interest on the tour:

  • Dock Street Theatre
  • Powder Magazine
  • St Philips Church
  • Heyward Washington House
  • The Four Corners of Law
  • Stoll’s Alley

Departure Location

This tour departs from the Four Corners of Law in front of City Hall at 80 Broad Street.  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour start time.
