Charleston Plantation Tours
Charleston’s wealth was created centuries ago based on the growing of rice and indigo on plantations laid out all over the Lowcountry. Take a plantation tour to learn about the historic importance of these estates in our nation’s history — and in the United States’ rice industry. Plantation tours allow visitors to step back in time and meet the families who ran these estates.
Join Capt. Bob as he takes you back in time for a tour of one of four available plantations. You’ll learn about the agriculture, horticulture, and natural wildlife of the plantation, as well as the life of the enslaved Africans upon whose backs this wealth was created.
Some of our tours of plantations in Charleston include:
- Magnolia Plantation
- Middleton Plantation
- Drayton Hall
- Boone Hall
Private Driving Tour
Join Capt. Bob in his comfortable Chrysler Town & Country. Spacious seating, wide windows, and air conditioning make this the perfect way to see Charleston when it’s too cold or hot to walk, or if one might have difficulty with a walking tour.
- Includes pick-up at your hotel or a restaurant in the Historic District.
- Additional fees may apply for pick-up outside of the city.
